Our
Story
We are Jason and Victoria Davis, and together with our daughter Eve, we started Heart of a Dinosaur to honor our son, Hayden Odell Davis. Hayden was born with congenital heart defects that required medication from birth and multiple heart surgeries throughout his life. Despite our efforts to manage his condition medically, in December 2022, we learned his heart was operating at only 11%.
After enduring long hospital stays, countless medications, and being placed on the heart transplant list, Hayden received his transplant in August 2023. Although his new heart was perfect, his body did not respond as we had hoped. On September 14, 2023, Hayden was no longer able to stay with us here on earth.
Hayden was the epitome of love—when he met you, you were instantly his friend. Through this organization, we want to share a piece of Hayden’s heart with the world and continue his legacy of love and friendship.
Heart of a Dinosaur is dedicated to supporting families of children facing cardiac challenges by providing financial assistance for long hospital stays, costly medications, insurance premiums, cardiac equipment, and, in the most tragic circumstances, bereavement costs.
Our mission also includes creating a specialized cardiac camp where children with heart transplants and other cardiac conditions can experience the joy of summer camp in a safe, supportive, and fun environment.
At Heart of a Dinosaur, we are committed to giving these courageous children and their families the support they need to thrive while honoring Hayden’s legacy. Together, we can make a meaningful difference in their lives.

A bright, loving, and courageous young boy born with congenital heart defects. Despite facing numerous medical challenges, including surgeries and a heart transplant, Hayden embodied strength, kindness, and an incredible capacity to make everyone he met feel like a friend.
Known for his infectious smile and loving spirit, he inspired those around him with his resilience and joy for life. Hayden’s legacy lives on through Heart of a Dinosaur, a nonprofit founded to honor his memory and continue his mission of spreading love and support to others.
